Hello guys! I was hoping someone here is kind enough to help me install a directory script via control panel. I am a total noob and would like to ask for help or instructions on how to install scripts. Any help is appreciated. Thanks!

Sure I'll help if I can. IF your hosting provider has cpanel then check whether it also provides fantastico. Fantastico has a blue face for an icon. Fantastico is an easy way to install common scripts. Maybe it includes a directory script

Whats the directory script you are going to install ? If its phpLD then you don't need Cpanel for installation except for creating data bases.

bizwiz. You apparently dont have directory scripts in the fantastico panels. You will have to get them online. I have heard that PHPLds are the top directory script nowadays.

So see if you can get a copy of that *wink*. Installation is very simple. Follow the readme

I agree with phpLD being the most popular and I am a proud supporter of them as well! ;)

If anyone needs help with installing one, please PM me direct and I will be more than happy to help you install it and tell you whatever you need to know about them and what mods are available or whatever!!

There are other great directory scripts too but none has many Mods like phpLD. I guess its the best choice you have.

I have a few phpLD free directories and like them very well!

I have never tried any other directories!

What are some others?
