Hi to everyone,
I am going to make a big content website which will feature news in different genres. Now, my question is what kind of CMS to use, Wordpress or Joomla? My experience with Wordpress is very good, it's very easy to use and the content management is excellent, but I got some problems modifying a my theme. I tried to use Joomla, but it has a lot of different content features which are very confusing, other than that it has alot of very cool modules and the themes are very nice. What do you recommend? Does the future lies with Wordpress or Joomla? |

Wordpress is way better than Joomla.
Joomla needs to get its act together; it's like a mini article cms without a real purpose. Wordpress looks nice, simple, and easy to use. It has impressive use of AJAX too. |

Yeah, you guys are right. I have question, is it possible to put some kind of introduction on a wordpress blog? A text area which will be an introduction to the site, without having the date of when it was written and places.
Thanks in advance. |

I have used only wordpress. Joomla is little difficult to learn to and slow. But i think it has many more features than Wordpress.

Joomla is an excellent freebie but I do not like the fact that their system uses re-directs to place cookies!!! I know they are Friendly re-directs but they are still re-directs, and that gets in the way of SEO sometimes more often than NOT!!

If I need a simple blog then I will choose wordpress and if I need a CMS site with lots of contents and features then I will choose Joomla. Wordpress and Joomla are incomparable for me.

Wordpress is would be very nice for begginers, its highly easy to move content around. where as in joomla its hard moving content around, but once you are familiar with its features, i'm sure u'll rub aside wp

I use Wordpress because I didn't have time when I was setting up my sites to learn Joomla (it is a little more difficult to grasp). That being said, I really was impressed by the magazine (don't know the real name) plugin available for it - definitely something I will probably buy in the future.

Well they both have different good and bad aspects ! Wordpress is easier to navigate and you can manage it even if you have huge amount of traffic whereas Joomla , as a CMS is more difficult so it needs a lot of time and effort!

I would say it depends. If you are primarily gonna make a blog then wordpress would be the best option.
But if you would be making a portal, a large site, enormous no pages then Joomla is for you. Joomla is very complex though. |

If you like your site to be secure, use wordpress.
If you like getting hacked, having your site defaced, being made fun of on hacker forums and restoring from backup, then use joomla. And while your doing all of that, trying to figure out "how" your site keeps getting hacked. If you like a fast loading site, use wordpress. If you like your site to run slow, then use joomla. I have never in my life seen so many people obsessed with insecure bloatware, like what people are with joomla. |
