Paypal is used by almost all the big companies and Google Checkout isn't.

Maybe for the moment. But i think Googlecheckout would able to give a serious fight.

The biggest downside checkout currently has is that it's not available for most countries. I think it's still US only.

Seems like sb225 has covered the main thing that I have personally noticed...

Between the two, PayPal seems better for the client, but not so much for the seller(% fee)... and I dunno about Google's fees.

I like checout. It's easy to pay and I feel more comfortable with the Google TM.

anything is easy to pay only we need some clicks to pay but we are not going anywhere to pay some one
you also need the buyer or seller to accept checkout

Google does not offer recurring payments and it is not available in as many countries as Paypal is.

I have recently written an article on Paypal - user agreement and alternative payment solutions which some of you may find of interest.

As for me, I love to use a paypal alternative because I think it is safer, but it seems to cost a lot of money, and Paypal is free. I don't think I can win either way, somehow.

I'm pretty sure Google Checkout is actually available for more countries other than the US...or at least, I've seen a checkout option on ebuyer.com.
