exactly John. Main reason to this " risky " myth is that most of people run after these get rich in a month programs and getting the idea that everything is fake or make few 5-10 pages web sites and expect to earn 1000s.

Well, fortunately, I have never understood those e-books of making money. I also have never learned how to use those ready templates etc. All those stuff are so FAKE! John, I like your saying "telemarketing and scamming on the net is not a job", because many people really think that this is what it is all about. I don't know how close is my understanding of the Internet or more concrete the online career, but I think that Internet is extremely powerful tool for all kind of business, so it so natural now a days to see absolutely online careers.
Internet is a biggest market an vendor/ service provider can ever have. Also its the fastest and easiest way to reach the global market. But to service there you need everything you need to have a successful career. If you are unsure 8 hours per day desk jobs are for you.
I think the number of online jobs will grow as the Internet continues to become the driving force in culture. Blogging, which was once just a hobby, is now making a lot of people good money.
I agree with John. There is no such thing as the get rich quick scenario they sell in these e-books or from guys selling turnkey sites to everyone. Unique content and concepts is what drives the internet and interest. Hard work, dedication, and a bit of luck all play a part in a successful run at an online business.
While you may be able to eventually quit your day job for an online career, people need to be sure that they can before they do.
weblord.. 12 hrs a day..that is insane?
me too doing 14 hours per day but now i have to increase and make more money this year
There are many injuries that can be associated with being on computers too much. I would love to be a developer 12 or 14 hours a day. It's almost what I do now except friends and all that stuff.
I am only going to college to brush up on my skills and to actually get a certificate saying that I know the languages and can code. Business's aren't really trusting xD
Yes anyway you can't just because a freelancer from start. First its better work for a firm and gain experience. Its very important. When you work online you can't relay on one thing, as a freelancer I work for local client as when as online clients and on my web sites.
Well I am going to be a web coder/designer. Probably coder, and I'm going to college then make websites for a company or something.
I used to do 12 hour days. You burn out your body pretty quickly at that rate. When you are young, it doesn't seem bad, but as you get older, that will come back to haunt you. Trust me, I know.
I'm going to be a Web Developer/Designer. I suck at drawing pictures so probably a coder. I don't care what I get payed: I'll work as many hours as needed.
If you want to work on the internet full-time, you're taking pretty big chances. Before your leaving your job, you would want to make sure you have plenty of back up. Check the average revenue you're receiving each month - Are they high? Do they fit your monthly needs?
All those questions should be asked before quitting your job for a full internet career.
Good luck.
It wouldn't hurt if you got all this set up during vacation so that you still work your day-job and you can get the online-career set up.
