You can pay in forums for people to do the job. But it depends whether you are looking only for short term traffic or building a quality traffic which is regular and consistent.

If you need large amount of traffic then you should start building quality contents. Your website should be original. It also should have a lot of backlinks and be able to rank high in lots of searches. Then you will be getting a lot of hits from search engines. You can also try to advertise your sites in other sites and advertising programs to get hits to your site.

To get traffic fast, submit to all the social bookmarks, then get others to exchange bookmarks with you. Lots of people get free traffic this way.

Or, if you want to pay...go with adwords.

You have to do directory submission, Bookmarking, article submission, forum posting and search engine submission, this are the simple way to get some traffic and PR for your website. There are lots of way to get more and more traffic. Buy links or banners on high traffic sites. Now you need more traffic on your site then higher any marketing person. :D

Erhh.. I recommend you add sig links in forums such as DigitalPoint or Namepros.

If you just want traffic for the heck of it, you could try an autosurf, but the traffic doesn't convert well.
