Buying targeted traffic - really worthwhile?

I have seen a number of sites that sell targeted traffic to your site using a number of methods, mostly pop-under and expired domain name traffic.

Are these any good in getting worthwhile traffic?

I assume most of the traffic will cause a high bounce back as they are being "forced" to a website they may well not interested in.

What are your thoughts?

In my experience.....it used to be a decent way to get a little traffic but with the Google scoring methods these days it is not worth trying!

It depends on the kind of site you have. It works for free membership or freebie sites.

not good for traffic but one way text links are excellent for rank.
