How effective do you think youtube videos are to advertising a website? I see many people do this now by putting the link at the end of the video.

I think they are excellent!!

The biggest reason is because Goolge and others anre putting the Thumb images and links right in the search results pages which is cool!

I think its good way if u made nice video many people will look it and maybe visit webite .

there are tips however to maximize youtube marketing and advertising, put at least a logo in the video it might be on top or at bottom or put a subtitle.

I have posted links of my website in some of the videos and I do get hits. The success ratio is like 5%. Like if my video gets 1000 visits, I'll get around 50 uniques.

Very effective especially if their videos are very popular.

I think it is great. I made a video blog post for PeterFoti.com and it has gotten about 100 views or so. Far more than I had expected.

not only the end of video but also on the video just like a trademark

Expect 5-10% CTR if you put a big logo on video.

youtube has loads of traffic . maybe you can get some traffic out of it .

I think it would depend on how well the video matches the site's content. For instance, a video on pet care would help a site a lot with marketing to the pet owners for a pet site. A lot of people will look at a video's site if they are interested in the subject. A while back I saw a domain in the middle of a comedy video and just for the heck of it, registered it. It got a bit of traffic and the video wasn't even on youtube, but played rarely on TV. I let it drop though in case there was any trademark issues, but it was a good experiment.

This is a great way to get more traffic to your site, lets face it, the amountof traffic they get, i would appreciate just 5% of that traffic to my sites!!!

Thought I would let everyone know that I had a guy make some videos advertising 5 of my sites though youtube and you can see some of those in the Community section of this Forum. Looks like they do work so far in getting traffic
