Well, first off, the main advantage for Google Pages is that it is under Google so that means you expect higher from them than ordinary hosts or website builders.
Google Pages is actually for beginners- at least for now because webmasters still have no control over server side scripting. Anyhow, the website builder is good and will suffice if you need a simple website solution. So the benefits are: 1.) Again, it's Google. 2.) Of course, the simplicity. 3.)
