Well if you need cheap hosting you can go for hosting for posting type hosting service. I use frihost.com and have 250 MB space and 10 GB bandwidth for staying active in their general forum just few posts per month is enough to keep the account active and NO ads. Also they have been in trade for 2 years so can say they are reliable.

If you are looking for something reliable, Id suggest using Jero's hosting (bytehut.com) through namepros. I cost very little per month provided you do it through Np$. I suppose the cost fo1 year is around 5$. I use 500 Mb , 5 Gb and found it very reliable, no downtimes so far.

well there are few things we should look before think its a rip.

01. You don't pay and there are not ads.you have total control over your hosting account just like paid.
02. Posting - You only need like 1 post per day everyday calculated it by post length not by post count. so u can make a post a day do few big posts and leave it.
03. Since they have run for more than 2 years without problem they are reliable. and they have good support service too.
04. How much you are willing to pay if its a paid service ? and again compare it with price of one post a day.

Also I i don't know what do you mean by 250 MB is a rip ? do you have a site which has taken more than 250 MB space ? IF you have a site which takes more than 250 MB space then probably it would be a huge site with mage traffic which you wouldn't need Free Hosting at all.

I have 5 paid hosting accounts and this free one and i haven't seen any difference except the fact that these guys have DirectAdmin. Something I have learn about cheap paid hosting is that most important thing about them are that having a good support and at least 98% up time.

After all if doesn't cost you anything but like a 1 minute per day. what do you expect more ? :D

There are a lot of hosting services out there, I would never recomment free services though as I have seen through time that those companies end up closing fast, either that or they put ads all over your account/website, which is not very pretty.

I think its always worth investing a bit on a website, even the cheap ones if you are able to afford, since you will be paying the price of one coffee in starbucks per month (or well more or less).
