Default Hosting providers with free domains!

Could you please share your experiences on having domains and hosting with the same company? What are your opinions on free domains provided by hosting companies? Do you have domain names with the same company or separately?

I have them separately as i would like to have FULL access to my domains. i bought hosting with domains before but only DreamHost as they allow me to change the DNS settings at any time for my domain, most hosts won't allow it unless you send them an email request and etc.

A very good point!

If you have control of your domain and you have a full backup of your site on your PC, you can go anywhere you want no matter what the reason.

Great post!

Usually those free domains names offer by hosting providers would cause too many problems. They usually put few rules into TOS so user won't able to transter domain out of them or their ownership get cancled when they end hosting contract.

Yes, some companies provide customers with the access details both for their domains and hosting, if it is really so they are worth to deal with!
