Is it worth getting vBulletin anymore? I am seeing more and more forums use PhpBB 3 even though it hasn't got its final release. Does vB have something that PhpBB 3 doesn't?

i'm not very sure about this but i think phpbb seems better. as in terms of navigation i would prefer phpbb.

I know that before PhpBB 3 came out, everyone used to hate PhpBB and i don't even know any large webmaster forums who use PhpBB.

Most forums nowadays are based on PHPBB. VBulletin is on its way to the pasture.

I'm not an big phpBB fan [ I prefer SMF ] But there are many large forums which use phpBB. For example www.frihost.com.

Many webmaster use phpBB, because it's free. Vbulletin is costeyou over 100 bucks for 1 license .

IMO if you need to use Vbulletin is worth to cost money.Vbulletin is a cool program.

i have never used phpbb but i think phpbb3 loads fast than vb thats why people are using but vb is more secure

phpBB3 is good, but vBulletin offers a lot of design features to be able to get a custom design up there with. It also gives it more of a professional standard, IMO.

vBulletin is pretty better because it has too many strong mods and plug-ins. PhpBB is also very good and very nice that it is free but I can't see the same strenght on phpBB based forums such as security mods etc.

I will admit that the phpBB has definately given VB a run for its money SEO wise. The scripts are set up perfect.

You still have to add Mods to get the forums the way you want them but they are free.

Personally though I am going to stick with VB as it is what i am used to working on!

Vbulletin 3.7.1 gold edition is the greatest(easy to edit ,secure and much more)
