Hi,
I think SEO is the process of designing and developing a web site to attend a high rank in search engine results.

PageRank is an index used by Google to value Websites on a scale of 0 to 10, based largely on link popularity and appearing on the Google Toolbar.

Page rank ranges from 0 to 10, 10 being the highest. It is the credibility and reliability of a site. One of the factors that affect PR is the number of back links that you are getting. But its not based on the quantity but the quality that you are getting.

I think PR has passed it's sell by date.

It's lead to a situation where everybody's clamoring for back links. The assumption that websites will naturally link to other websites for their good content, just isn't reasonable any more.

Determine a couple keyword phrases for each page on your site. Don’t just guess what users will be search for – use Google’s and Wordtracker’s keyword tools to make the final descision. You can spend all your time optimizing for “green foosball tables”, but if only 10 people search that in a month, it’s obviously a complete waste of time. Before deciding on a keyword phrase, check how competitive it is. Search for your phrase and take note of the top 10 results in Google.Last thing you want to do is to start an endless uphill battle with little chance of success.

Page Rank term is only related to Google Search Engine.

The more PR means more hits you will get, more quality contents in your website and more high pr backlinks you have.
