Why there is a huge demand for .edu link? Why they are valuable this much ?

I think they are ranked better in SE's or are considered authority sites.

this days education sites are becomming more powerful and most sites are providing online education or results etc so they are becomming popular
also they may increase PR too

I don't think that edu's can be very fastly valuable but people cant find good domain names, for that reason, in future it may be a really famous. I am not sure.

They are valuable because they are one of the domain name extensions you cannot buy. They are reserved specially for educational institutions, and you have to apply to get one. The only way to get links from them is if you are a student at a university or college, find a directory on an .edu domain, join a forum on a .edu domain (usually only applies to students) or buy a link.

It is very hard to get your site listed on a .edu unless you are affiliated with a university.

Google doesn't really treat .edus as special though...

I think Google and other search engines now give the same weight to .edu links as to other tld's.
That should discourage spammers who try to spam every .edu site with their links.

Google think that .edu domains cant be used for business purposes.So Google gives preference to get true backlinks for any site from .edu domains.That also fits for .org domains as nonprofit use.But i cant say that Google doesn't give them much weight to .edu n .org domains.

FIrst of all, .edu site usually have high pagerank. Secondly, edu site is credited by Google. They're sure give you more credit

change their algo so it will not be the same at all.
