You have missed Do Follow Blog comments. For me three patterns are really working and those three are -

1) Forum Postings
2) Do Follow Blog Comments
3) Directory Submission.

But now I would love to try some new things as well such as Craiglist and news release.

I am bit confuse about some method, so will you please tell me in detais about these ones -

1. Post newsgroups
2. Press releases
3. Email to VIPs
4. Post adds to free advertising website

Please tell me about these four methods as I have never used them.

A press release is very effective if done right. If you are a writer you would write a press release and submit it to site like prweb or for a price you can have them write it for you. Not sure about the rest of them, but whatever you do just remember it is one thing to get traffic and it is another to get targeted traffic that will convert to sales.
