What are your aims in obtaining backlinks?

PR or exposure?
Do you expect and indeed get traffic from any?

Mine is
90% PR & SERPS, 10% direct traffic.
I get some direct 'human' interest from links, but nowhere near what I get from Search Engines

I want both PR and term position myself!! But then again, I am greedy!!!

Both make a great combination in obtaining traffic in my opinion!

Depends on the site. I rather have high SERP rankings but in the case of directories, high pr all the way baby :)

Depends also for me, if my keywords need to come up, like a tutorial of some sort, then of course I will want a high position because then my site will get one of the first hits and hopefully get respect with the person.

as science of SEO, make backlink as more as you can and you will have a good page rank :D

I would also prefer 90/10. I want better higher page rank and top ranking keywords in SERP.

I get tons of traffic from the back links I have.. I like to get one way though... There better just due to the fact that I didn't link back.. They mostly are relating something to what they wrote/did to me.

I get small traffic from se because of my pr is low but from searchengines traffic are a worth than paid traffic

Choose a backlink that has good PR or at least have the same PR with your site.
