Why optimize your blog?
#Increase rankings of the blog on both regular search engines as well as blog/RSS search engines.

#Increase traffic and visibilty to the blog from multiple sources such as social search and social bookmarking/networking sites (del.icio.us)

Blogs optimization tips are listed below:

1.Categories your blogs with keywords in title.
2.Submit your blog to blog directories and RSS.
3.Include RSS feed subscription buttons to blogs.
4.Offer RSS to Email.
5.Avoide bad color schemes on blogs.
6.Creat unique content with descriptive title.
7.Ping Other Sites.[feed burner].
8.Regular posting and editing.

Thanks for those tips. Submitting blogs to rss directories and blog directories really help out a lot but the most important thing for a blog is to have original and quality contents. Then you can submit them and promote them easily.

Are they same for nonEnglish blogs too?
I have some blog sites but I can't get the visitor number which I expected. I can't submit my blog to directories generally, because they don't accept nonEnglish sites.

What do you suggest?

Niic Post! also Spelling Counts, run a quick spell check before you publish your entry and Navigation matters don't link to the main page of the blog alone Syndicate your recent headlines in the sidebar to encourage visitors on the main site to also check the blog too.

Yes, that's right. Writing fresh, unique, interesting and quality content is the most important thing for a blog to have. Once you have submitted them to social bookmarking sites, it will generally boost your traffic.
