Do you think it is a good practice to get links from commenting at other's blog posts? Does it really make any difference in backlinks/page rank etc of your website?

Personally, i think it does. There will be people who will click on your link if you have a good comment, and search engines will surely take it as a backlink.

Most good sites have a rel=nofollow attribute on all user comments and so they won't count as backlinks in search engines. Thanks to spammers!

Blog posting with text links are beneficial but it should be on your own site.
So put your own blogs with wordpress application on your site and update it regularly with fresh contents.

Most big or famous blogs use nofollow links, even without it they are more like forum signatures. You might get traffic but can't expect domain juice.

I was going through different websites and found a person selling an ebook teaching how to find blogs which do not use nofollow tags. Do you think it is worth to buy?

It maybe not good for links but it is great to leave comments to get some traffic.

its not a good idea but you can also do this... you will have a bad rep if your post is not related and can be flag as spammer

Since most blogs use nofollow, commenting on blogs is not counted as backlinks but it can help to generate traffic especially if your comment is interesting and useful to their blogs.

Basically when you post a comment on someones blog, you are exposing your site making it accessible to the world and if they are curious enough they would click on it thus generating traffic to your site.

I think they may only become curious to see the site if the comment is actually good and interesting.
