Sites still exchange links. The concept isn't moribund, but it certainly doesn't have the impact a non-reciprocal link has. Reciprocal linking is simply an exchange of links. You link to my site; I'll link to yours. And since spiders follow links, it's not a bad arrangement.

A couple of warnings, however. Any site with which you exchange links should be related to the topic of your site. If you're selling baby clothes on your site and you've got a link to a transmission fix-it site, you'll get nicked by the search engine. Remember, the whole purpose of a search engine is to provide useful, relevant content to users so any links you exchange should be considered from the point of view of the site visitor. Is that link going to further the search of the site visitor or is it a dead end?

If a site appears to have a significant number of back links, and better yet, ranks well in the SERPs, it's a likely candidate for a link exchange even if it's a PR 2. Look for quality sites, or at least quality characteristics.

I thought that search engines now hated link exchanges, i personally would only use them to gain traffic and not PR.

If you exchange links with related site and which have high PR,You will definitely get benifit.Another factor is that quality of site.

SE now officially don't count pagerank for paid backlinks. So repi links service maybe not useful

yes link exchanges will be hated by search engines, mostly the paid links like TLA... that's why most of the web , blog lowers there PR...

Every web site that you trade your link wiht ,ie, carry out a link exchange, should be of the same topic as your web site.or else the spiders wont like the act buddy

It has been for years but the new Goog guidlines say that it is a bad thing in some cases!!

if you can have a one way from that High PR site is all the better!!

Simple Link exchanges aren't worth in my opinion and might even cause harm instead of good. However, nothing can beat a three-way link exchange. Even better if the sites are om different IPs.

I don't know about bad things of exchanging links..

But all I can say is it works very well with my website ;)

but make sure the links you got is from content-related site
