I've seen a lot of webmasters who can master keywords, by this i mean people who can make their site show up in search engines at the top of the page on keywords such as "entertainment" or "webmaster" or "forum" ...etc. What kind of steps do these geniuses take to master the keywords

I guess they employ various what hat or even black hat techniques to achieve that.

I think that the order of such keyword in the title and meta description/keywords along with the anchor text links to that site/page that would make a difference in SERPs. I guess pagerank would help, but it is not the only factor for position placement by SE.

I would love to see others feedback on this, and how they manage to put their sites close to the top ;)

Its not easy to fight for single words better try for word phrases so less fight but still you get traffic.

The fight would be worth it at the end of the day :p Imagine how much traffic you would get for "entertainment" ;)

I am totally addicted to search terms!!

They can be achieved by following a few basic rules:

1. You need relevancy starting from your TITLE, which is your strongest Keyword source and then being relevant with your Meta Description, and then Meta keywords!

2. You need to then mix a FEW keywords into your site content (text) that are in 1.

3. You need to find quality link sources to give your site some strength from the search engines.

This is not all of it but it is a good start!!

Yes Thats " IF " you could get traffic by getting into first 10 or 20 sites. But using keyword phrases you would get traffic for sure if u do it correctly since there wouldn't but much competition. Whats you would prefer ?

" IF " you get 1000 visitors by completing for top ranks for word "entertainment" , which's success rate would be low or by making same effort gain 1000 visitors by few related keyword phasers ?
