I have been working with the PHPmotion video and CMS script and I kind of like it so we've decided to start a forum for it.
Has anyone else seen this script?
If so, what do you think?![]()
This is a discussion on PHPmotion Video Script. Do you know what it is? within the PHPmotion forums, part of the Scripts, Mods, and Templates category; I have been working with the PHPmotion video and CMS script and I kind of like it so we've decided ...

Hmm - haven't heard of this, but after checking their templates and current forum, I'm not sure if I'd like the new forum - it will be interesting to see how you progress on this project.
It's not my project at all...
I have just been working with it because I am in to video scripts these days.
I am in no way a part of PHPmotion just for the record.
I do think it is a cool script though, especially for free.
It requires some tricky hosting but ffmpeg scripts usually do.![]()
Ahh - now I understand and agree it is a pretty cool script ... tricky hosting would drive me nuts!![]()
I refuse to use PHPmotion for one reason.
He uses others labor to put together his script then reaps the reward.
That is a serious accusation!
Isn't it common for people to have communities to help them build scripts and things?
I know a few right off the top of my head that have done that but the thing is that the main person funds everything.
Some of the best scripts out there have been pieced together by a community or a team.
Did he actually hire you for a job or make any promises to you?
I know Brian, the owner of PHPmotion, and would vouch for him any time. I also recognize that post (it's on other forums under different usernames). :)
This person created some free, undocumented mods on the forum, just like many, many other people (including myself) do, but was not hired or even asked to do work, create mods, or anything of the sort. Eventually he was banned from the PHPmotion forum (not without warning) due to a foul mouth and blatant disregard for the forum rules. Honestly, we tried to accomodate... he's a very skilled coder. :)
I can also verify that Brian routinely does generate new licenses at no additional charge for people who mistakenly enter the wrong domain, sub domain, etc.
Anyway... half-hearted apologies for jumping in like this- I don't track this guy all over the web, but I had been watching this new board (found it via Google), and thought I might as well register and respond. If it was out of line, just let me know, otherwise, if I can answer any PHPmotion questions here, I'd love to!
I don't think you are out of line at all and I recognize you from their forum and you seem to help people in need like we try to do here for other types of scripts as well.
I don't get in to people bashing people around at all myself, unless it is from one of our mods for foul behavior or spam from a member, ha ha ha. But seriously...
I believe this persons post should be modified, which I will, and if he does it again I will have to consider action for it.
Thanks for your post.
I am a big supporter of the script BTW. I think the future is bright for phpMotion![]()
Well you are a great member over there, and we could use another true webmaster around here as well.
I also thank you for your compliments to our community!
We have always had a goal to have something people could use and enjoy but it has taken some time, and we are still working on it.
Great members help a lot and will be our biggest asset to obtain the ultimate goal!![]()
