php is faster performance on small to medium scale web
asp.net is more on enterprise level web

php would be easier to learn.

For me it really doesn't matter what language it is as long as you are familiar with it.

PHP is the one I would say should be the first to learn because previous ASP.net languages have been taken over by PHP but ASP.net is still very used and has it's advantages over PHP.

Confused yet?? hehe

I hope that helps!

Umm... besides the fact that ASP is Microsuck specific, PHP has a much larger base of users on the web who are ready and willing to help along the way.

I'd learn PHP first and learn ASP as a second language down the road.

PHP is easier than ASP.Net. I've used ASP.net and i know already the comparison between PHP and ASP.net. ASP.Net syntax is very critical in terms of having a dbase connection.
