I really want to learn PHP but i just cant find the 'time' to learn it. If only my library had a book on PHP for Dummies, i would actullay be able to, but slowly. Anyhow, i only know HTML and CSS, which isn't anything major.

I started out 25+ years ago programming Basic, then 6502 Assembly, then C and C++ which I used for most of my career online and now PHP which I've been using for the past two years or so. I never did quite get into Windows programming. All that stuff in MFC library was enough to give me a headache. Did you know the reference books for that stand as high as a table when piled up?

I would learn Javascript first and see all the features. JavaScript is much more powerful then VB. Learn JS first and then learn VB to see what you can do there that not with JS

well i have been programming simple stuffs in BASIC from 1994, in 1998 i started my actuall programming, (till now it was part of curriculam),
from 1998 onwards im working on linux, and from 2000 onwards i worked on C/C++, VB 6.0, HTML, Jscript, VBSCRIPTING, classic ASP
but still my best bet is shell scripting
and now i am learning PHP, Java, and hopefull some RAD tools in linux by the end of june 2008.

and VB and Jascript are two different things buddy,
if you want gor for VB and you will learn some limitations as well as some ease in programming, coz PHP and VB have different work environment.

They are both browser-side clients. There are differences yes, otherwise there wouldn't be 2 of them, but for the most part, JavaScript is a more powerful language then VBScript in my opinion and many people of the webdeveloping community. This isn't just my opinion, it's fact.

Thought you were talking about VBScript. Because they are essentially the same. Almost*

This statement essentially puts you in the category of person's who have not got full exposure of the capabilities of VB and

for your information VBScript is a subset of VB and VB has a lot more to work on whne compared to VBScripting.

Check some online resources to get the list.

But mark my words VBScript is a lot confined then VB.

I've never done VBScript because my Uncle is a professional programmer and he says his company rarely even considers recruiting programmers who know VBScript. I'm taking his word.
