Hi,
My question is probably not so difficult to answer by most of you here Web Masters! :) Ok! Can you please tell me where it is best to register my domains? Differences and benefits of different registrars, any risks? The best way to do it budget wise. :) Thank you very much!

Yes their service is too cheap although you should be careful since with a quick look i saw that they say price is only for the first year (just to enter the game as a customer). Since you have reg there names.. is their interface and their functions ok?
i use godaddy.com and dynadot.com. I suggest dynadot stay away from 1and1.com... their prices are cheap but i have heard awfull things about their services and that is too hard to transfer names from their company to another company! Last edited by john; 11-21-2007 at 05:37 PM. |

I would recommend Namecheap.com and Domainsite.com. Namecheap gives a lot of freebies for <$9.

my advise is to go with the domain industry leaders like godaddy.com, enom.com, namecheap.com, moniker.com and scatter it as much as possible so if anything happens to one account you have another one to sell. sorry for the late reply and for bumping an old thread.

godaddy also offers whois privacy if you register i think more than 5 domains together. although i don't think that is very important to have privacy if there is not a certain reason. I personally think that a website without privacy is a more trustworthy. Are you a criminal? why to hide your info? Also the free goodies that offer the most domain registrants are garbage and probably you will never use them. You can find free better ones. the important think for me is to be a legit registar, and to have the ability to manage easily your domains and transfer them

We prabably sound like a broken record here, but the reality of domain registrars is that all the small companies offering extremely cheap domains, are not what you want to go with. I have personal experience with these companies, that have many tricks like auto renewals at outrageous prices and difficulty in transferring the domain. GoDaddy is the way to go in consistently good priced domains and the best reliability
