The first thing you need is a home for your website on the World Wide Web so you will need to register a domain name. A domain name gives your website an Internet address. Under the Domain Name System (DNS), domain names are composed of four elements; a server prefix, a domain name, a domain suffix (or extension), and a country code (the only optional element). For instance, www.susanward.com is an example of a domain name where “www” is the server prefix, “susanward” is the domain name and “com” is the domain suffix.

I like easy to use control panels and I would have to say that there are three that I usually use.
1. My Own company which is on the signature (dont mean to advertise but hey I like my own control panel). 2. Register Domain Names at Register-Domain-names.com Domain Registration services for major World Domains has a nice control panel and are very helpful, good support as well. 3. Domain name registration from 123-reg are quite secure and control panel is a bit hard to use but more advanced. |
