hi all,

newbie here don't know much about this links business but i heard that when we include urls in our signature when posting in forums, these links are not ranked as highly by

cuz it somehow knows?

does anyone know how this works or can point me a source that does?

I think that is incorrect myself.

Forums are powerful depending on which ones you are in.

I have alway used signature links to get my sites up there on keywords.

I helped a few months ago someone get ranked in a contest for a keyword phrase just by putting the keyword linked to his url.
He did not win, but at one point, was number 3 just on the strength of my signature links.

Now, on certain forums where I have over 18,000 total posts, a signature link boosts whatever site I put on the signature files!

I do agree that having some signature in different forums can help a lot. That maybe the reason that a lot of people are interested in forum signatures.

Forum signatures are a good way to build backlinks, but remember they don't last forever as the spiders only crawl recent threads, your old links will eventually disappear.

If you sites in signature are relative to the theme of forum, you are surely going to gain both in tern of search engine ranking and traffic

Links in signatures are a good way to increase traffic, but you have to make sure you leave them on Do Follow sites, like this one.

Another thing to remember, do not spam post in forums just to get traffic and links. the forum will ban you.

I agree. And if you have a considerable number of high-quality posts, your signature links will be even more effective.
