Hey all,
Maybe seems like an odd question to ask but the reason I ask is because I am learning JavaScript which I find fairly hard to pick up and I am going to start learning PHP soon and so I wondered if I am going to find it easier or harder than JavaScript? |

in terms of learning curves, javascript is easiest but php can accomplish a lot more than javascript being server side language.

Err...I'd agree with that.
Javascript is easy once you've mastered it. It will lead you on to learning other coding languages like Ajax. Php can get complecated but is easy to pick up. It's easy to understand, it's just using it which is the problem. |

Well PHP is simple to learn but has many advanced features for more experienced members. JavaScript is nifty to learn but has it's limits. I basically only use javascript for functions that PHP or other languages do not cover. In my experience. JavaScript and PHP was easy to learn. Though thinking over it, PHP takes more time to master, unlike JavaScript.

PHP has far more commands than Javascript does and in some ways that makes it easier, but more to learn. The reason I say easier is you are not as constrained as you are with Javascript. As I always say, one should consider taking a basic programming course either online or at a college to really learn programming structure. Then the rest is just plugging in the right commands with a few changes here and there.

JavaScript is easier I think. PHP is a lot more useful. If you learn any language, and see some examples in PHP, I think you could substitute some code for PHP code and get your result.
