Is this some type of Blog or article directory? Looks like a spin-off of a Blog. I guess there will be different Niches. Might be catching

Yes it is like wikipedia where you can edit content and upload content.

Its another product from Google. Like a wikipedia but since it governed by Google so we can expect more quality and 100% true information.

Hmmm you can say that Google created this one to give competition to Wikipedia. But knol is already facing some citicisms from webmaster from around the world.
