.net imo, in some cases .org outsmarts .net or even .com depending on the nature of the company

.info is also getting more and more attention these days

Alternatives to .com will be .net, .org, .info and .tv . I like these four types of domain names equally after the dot com .

Best alternative to .net if you are looking to branding or typein traffics and .info if you target search engines.

IMO next best alternative is .net,but .org,.info,.tv are still good alternative.They strong tlds.

i strongly believe that the best next next alternative to a .com extension is .net! and after i believe .org after .info and biz

So as per ur suggestions .net is next best.ok i was asking bcoz i was in middle to choose a .net or a .in domain.I ask the same question all around the world n got the same suggestion as from U.I am now sure to pick up a .net domain.ok thank U guys for ur gr8 suggestions.:)

I don't know why everyone says .net is the next best to .com. I personally like .info just as much. I started liking them, of course, way back in the day when I got a load of .info domains for free. Remember that?? I still have one of those from back then that I earn good $$$ from monthly.

Info domains are cheap.So everybody wants to make a website with .info domains.Basically they use .info domains to make mony(e.g adsense,affiliate).But can anyone think to make brand using .info domains??

for sure .net is the most reputated domain after .com and after .org. you shouldn't forget that .net and .org alla much older that the others.. and never be given for free or for 2 dollars :p

Well main its just the way people think. they just can't think out of this ".com" thing. just like they down graded the .info.

I think .co.uk comes after .com on my scale.
