If the .com version of your name is taken what would you consider next?

I'd go with .co.uk

I would say .net but it sounds a bit goofy on some names, I like .org for some reason.

well, i would choose .net if .com was taken. but if both were taken, i guess i would go for .co.uk~ ;)

For reselling, I'd consider .net after .com of course.
If for developing, I'd consider .net or .org

As a reseller it would be .net and as a developer it would be .info. But when it comes to SEO both are same.

I personally like the .org for a developed website. Obviously .net for reselling and .infos are so cheap you might as well buy them.

for a personal name, if .com is taken, I will consider .info or .biz.
If I want just a personal web-site, in order to describe myself and serve as a interactive resume, I will register .info
If I am going to make some kind of business under my name or just describing my business activities, I will register .biz

For re-selling I would obviously go with .net, then .biz.
.info for personal names.

I always go .net after .com, if both are unavailable, I'll look for a different domain name all together.
