Hi,
I am planning to sell e-books, music Cds online with the help of my own site. I have uploaded all the stuff on my site. I am worrying about payment transactions. I want to give all the payment methods to the customer which includes credit card, Visa card etc. Is there is any suggestions to securely run payment transaction on my site? |

There are many ways for secure transactions...
Many people use Paypal and they can use their CC on Paypal... Another option might be Google... |

Hello,
A good question. Only few people are conscious about the payment transactions online. I would suggest you to get certified from Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) to manage your payment system. This is actually a filtering system before customer payment process online as a result security increases. Last edited by iowadawg; 02-09-2009 at 01:38 PM. |

Good point you have there GreenAdams. Online businesses should take note of the security features of their online payment especially when taking credit card info.
Like wendallB, Paypal checkout is one of the easiest and I think secure way of payment. |

Hello Albert,
I agree with PayPal Option but this will not secure data on your website as PayPal uses its dedicated SSL Certificate. You need to use dedicated SSL Certificate for your own website. Installing SSL Certificate on your website you can secure all type of data transaction on your website and you can set your own payment gateway to accept direct Credit Card Payment. TheSSLStore.com provides from Low value to High Value SSL Certificate. If you plan to sell well known products on your website then I recommend using VeriSign EV SSL Certificate. EV SSL Certificate supports 2048 Bit CSR and 256 Bit Encryption. That means no one can hack your users private data. TheSSLStore.com is leading SSL Provider and offers 50% to 80% discount and 24/7/365 live chat support plus security Site Seal FREE! Promotion codes: QSSLPremium WildcardSSL GeoTrustEV RAPIDSSL5YR Thanks, Master Adam Last edited by iowadawg; 10-23-2009 at 03:01 PM. |

I'd say find some free e-commerce software as someone else said and use Paypal to start out. When your sales pick up you should get better software and a good credit card processing system. You could also try selling on sites such as Amazon to spread you product and name more.
