The Magic Tricks Of SEO Are Gone! Pt. 1

Posted 05-05-2008 at 02:25 AM by Hunter1
Well we have just had our quarterly dose of Google PR juice recently, and as usual there were many people that said YAY, and some that said Google was no good for taking their site down in PR which is very typical of every Google update. I don't think that this behavior will end any time soon and for the people that gained PR will be celebrating as well as contemplating their next move and advertising to capitalize on the PR that they've just obtained, and then for the others that were not so fortunate, they will get back on the saddle and get everything ready for the next update in hopes to be victorious.

I have to say that I've seen many different trends in the search engine optimizing world and I don't think that any SEO technician could honestly say that he can fully understand the flow of the search engines 100%, but I believe that some of the true professionals can hold the majority of that percentage and do some powerful things with that knowledge.

I am definitely one of these people to devote a good portion of my life studying in researching the search engines and I can boldly say after recent changes in closely watched experiments over the last several months that the magic tricks are gone as far as SEO is concerned! Let me say one more time, the magic tricks are gone!

Black Hat as SEO, White Hat SEO, and the few other fancy technical terms that us as SEO technicians have used over the years are going to be a thing of the past here very soon as they will just be mere residue hanging around indexing or on the Internet because things are changing and pretty soon people realize that in SEO that everyone has been used to for the last 10 years will be dead!

What is the answer? It's time to get honest about the way you present your website in the Internet!

One thing is for sure, doing true search engine optimization for a website is and has always been a lot of work to do it correctly. Along with that, it takes a certain amount of maintenance to keep your website flowing and breathing in the Internet but one thing you do not have to do any more is use black hat type methods of getting your website seen. The fact of the matter is that adding great content into your website has become one of the most powerful tools that your website can have as far as getting into search terms. The search engine's are finally achieving what they have been trying to do all along which is to read content inside of websites with sophisticated robots in order to judge popularity.

Many clients that I work with emphasize on keywords in the meta makeup and I cannot stress enough how keywords have totally changed their purpose. It is true that your meta makeup, being your tags and description have value that it has switched to a different kind. I have found that if you make your main title, meta description, and meta tags stay no less than 90% relevant, and the next that in with valuable rich content that flows in harmony within that relevancy somewhere is the true winner these days. I cannot reiterate enough that achieving top ranking terms and page rank is still a lot of work and requires many resources to gain popularity but the good news is that you can present yourself out there honestly and target your goals and good old-fashioned clean way to get the great results.

Is PR important? Do we achieve great positions in search terms by having PR?

This opinion will be argued continually by impaired up to a but as far as search term positions, PR does not get the job done. Does it help you? Sure it does but not in the way you might think. I have known sites to sell homepage link spots on PR 8 sites for as high as $5,000 a month which if you were on a PR 8 homepage I can almost guarantee you that you would achieve a PR 6 or better but what does that do exactly? For one thing, it will get your website cached a lot quicker being that power website that you are attached to know we'll have search spiders flowing through it probably 24 hours a day which runs into your link and then cycles through it which in turn will help you out with gaining popularity but I am here to tell you if you think that that's going to get you in top search positions, forget it!

The only way that you're going to achieve maximum search engine term positions is to throw the gloves off and jump in the ring and prepare yourself for some good old-fashioned hard work. Or, you could have an SEO Tech do it but either way the work has to be done!
