If you mean to own and run a site. I would for sure go with a Forum. It's just a totally different world.

Its like your own community.

Both is indeed a powerful combination. But I prefer a forum anyday.

both i prefer but in /blog and /forum

we can make the site simple home pages with some templates

and its good to make both blog and forum along with home pages

first we may tempted to build blog / forum in root directory of site

but its good to separate from the beginning it self to avoid future problems

I find that with schools, they tend to block more blogs then forums. I like forums more :)

i think that these two can't compare. Diffent things, different aims. just different things. Although i believe a succesfull forum when gets steady has the advantage that members refresh content continiously.

Forum would currently appear to be our preference. However, just like any site you need to work it.
Check it out. I think the interation on a forum is far greater than that of a blog with content being generated quicker.
Defo good for search engines too picking up the content!
