Default Popups.. Any good?

Popups were quite popular a few years back. They are pretty much out-dated now especially after invention of many smart browsers and popup blockers, they are kinda history now but still few websites use them. Anyone here use popups on their website? If yes then how are the results like? Thanks for any responses.

Most browsers now come with a pop-up blocker but overall I think this is still good.

Im not sure they are great from advertisers side except for porn sites. All browsers are now popup proof and almost noone pay attention to them.

Popups are really annoying from an user point of view. It frustrates the user more than it provides some usefull information.

My opinion is that the pop up days are gone and I am glad!! They really annoyed me!! I don't even have the PM pop ups activated in this site because I really don't like them!!

I hate popups. They make me stop visiting a site, since they're rather annoying.

However, I would say that interstitials and Popunders are even more annoying.

I really have no problem with banner ads, though.

I never return to sites that have pop-ups of advertisements. They are 100% annoying and thanks to my browser, it block it.

adversal.com pays via popups, so im using them to monetize some high traffic pages, but not all pages.

Popups are a fantastic way of drawing users away from your site. If that is your goal I would highly recommend them. Otherwise, stick to banner ads and text links.
