Dmoz has been the Most respected directory in the business and Google trusted the fact that your site was listed because of the tight security of letting sites in, but it is of my opinion that Google has changed all of that!! They have their own guidlines to rank your site and they do NOT rely on sites like Dmoz anymore but Dmoz is still a powerful directory to be in if you can get your site listed in it!!
