If you can manage to get listed under a specific regional category of DMOZ, your rankings will SHOT TO PAGE 1.
DMOZ listings under general categories dont weigh much, but surely regional listings can do wonders for your site. For example if you manage to get listed under "New York" region, your rankings will shot to page 1 whenever somebody search Google.com from New York.
DMOZ is slow, fluffy and works like a snail, but still it is Google's step mom and we cannot ignore that.
